President Of Ukraine Signed Law On Ban On Activities Of UOC In Country

President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and related organizations in Ukraine. This is stated on the website of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian media write, the purpose of the law is the ban on the activities of the UOC and religious organizations affiliated with it. The document also provides for the ban on the spread of the ideology of the “Russian world”.

The law comes into force from the day following the day of its publication.

On Tuesday, August 20, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law prohibiting the activities of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the country.

Earlier in support of the ban -Council of the UOC, the All -Ukrainian Council of Churches spoke.

In May 2022, the Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) was held in Kyiv, which proclaimed its complete independence and independence from the Moscow Patriarchate.

However, the authorities of the country and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU) are still called the UOC “pro-Russian.”

Law on ratification of Roman Statute

Zelensky also signed the law on ratification of the Roman Statute.

The press service of the Ukrainian Parliament reported that the official print publication of the Verkhovna Rada Voice of Ukraine published the Law of Ukraine on the ratification of the Roman Statute of the International Criminal Court and the amendments to it “No. 3909-IX.

This Law comes into force from the day following the day of its publication.
