President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev began a state visit to China. As part of the visit, the Head of State met with the Prime Minister of the State Council of China Lee Qian in the House of Folk Assembly.
According to the press service of the Uzbek president, the parties considered the issues of further expansion of multifaceted practical interaction, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.
They emphasized that thanks to the political will, the joint efforts of the leaders of the two countries, the Uzbek-Chinese relations reached an unprecedented level in all areas and directions.
The press service noted that last year the turnover between Uzbekistan and China increased by 50 percent, reaching $ 14 billion. The potential was noted to bring this indicator up to $ 20 billion, including by increasing mutual supplies of high -quality agricultural and industrial goods. The total volume of Chinese investments in the economy of Uzbekistan exceeded $ 14 billion.
The parties also discussed the preparation of individual cooperation programs in the field of modernization of infrastructure, expanding industrial cooperation, a transference of technology in agriculture and the development of “green” energy.
The prospects of deepening practical interaction with leading banking and financial institutions of China, as well as the participation of Chinese companies in privatization processes in Uzbekistan, are also considered.
The interlocutors gave high the appreciation of the results of the first Uzbek-Chinese forum of regions and the industrial exhibition held on January 22 in the city of Urumchi.
They noted the successful holding of the educational forum and days of Uzbek culture in China these days. The parties advocated further expansion of air traffic and tourist exchanges.
At the end, the President of Uzbekistan invited the Prime Minister of the State Council of the PRC to visit Uzbekistan on a visit.
