The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave guarantees to France to France that the republic will continue reforms and a policy of open economics. The Uzbek leader stated this based on the results of on November 2 in Samarkand of negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron.
“I want to assure you again what we will create for all the convenience in Uzbekistan. As the president I want to give you guarantees. Your activities in Uzbekistan and our cooperation in the future are guaranteed by the president and government of Uzbekistan. You should never have doubt, trust us, ”said Mirziyoyev, whose words are given by Uzbek media.
The President noted that the international community is faced with complex geopolitical and economic problems. “These threats lead us to look for new opportunities for the development of our economies and act closer together. We agreed on this at meetings in a narrow format and with delegations,” he said.
Mirziyoyev assured that economic reforms will not be turned back. “There is no road back – only forward. We will continue [politics] of an open economy with all the capabilities and conditions,” said the President of Uzbekistan.
Mirziyoyev noted that Uzbekistan and French business plan to develop strategic partnership in the field of “green” economy. According to him, together with Edf, Total Energy, Voltalia, large projects have already begun.
The second direction, the President of Uzbekistan called the processing of strategic raw materials at the expense of advanced technologies and export of industrial goods, expanding exploration in uranium deposits together with Orange.
As part of these initiatives in the fields of the Uzbek-French business forum, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the head of Orano Claude Iminen.
“Orano” is the largest global manufacturer of uranium and nuclear fuel with assets of 29 billion euros.
The meeting supports initiatives to expand cooperation in the field of geological exploration and Uranus production.
Earlier, the media appeared that Macron seeks to expand the supply of Uranus from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for nuclear facilities of France.
France and the EU previously imported uranium from Niger and Russia, however, after the coup in Niger, the new military administration stopped the supply of Uranus to the republic, and deliveries from Russia are at risk of sanctions because of the war in Ukraine.
On the eve of the French president made a visit to Kazakhstan.
