President of Uzbekistan launched project to assemble electric vehicles in China

As part of the business program of the state visit, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the headquarters and the technological center of the leading Chinese company “BYD” in the city of Shenzhen.

According to the press service of the head of state, the company is a global leader in the production of modern innovative cars and batteries of a new generation.

The President of Uzbekistan, together with the president of the company Van Chuang, took part in the launch ceremony of the project to assemble hybrid and electric cars in the Dzhazak region with a capacity of 50 thousand units per year.

Mirziyoyev pointed out the need to expand the model range in the near future, taking into account demand in the market and increase production capacities to 300 thousand per year.

The head of state also supported the company’s plans to establish the assembly of BYD electric buses in Uzbekistan with the localization of spare parts and the creation of engineering and service centers.

During a visit to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Yangwang U8 car was donated as a sign of the 10,000th car of the company.
