The US uses a system of two -stage elections, within the framework of which, at the first stage, according to the results of universal vote, the college of electors is determined, and then they choose the head of state. The victory is won by a candidate who gained more votes of the electors, and not direct voters. Currently, the number of electors is 538. Each staff allocates the number of electors equal to the number of its senators and congressmen. For victory, the candidate must gain at least 270 votes of electors representing 50 American states and the district of Colombia. The candidate who gained the largest number of votes of voters receives all the votes of the board of the state electors.
