Presidents Of Azerbaijan And Mongolia Discussed Bilateral Relations

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, at a meeting with the President of Mongolia, Ukhnagiyn Khurelsukh, expressed the hope that the contacts between Baku and Udan Bator at various levels will continue.

The meeting of the heads of the state of Azerbaijan and Mongolia took place in Baku as part of the 29th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Having emphasized that political relations are at a very good level, the head of state noted the importance of determining the directions of cooperation, including in the economic sphere.

Aliyev thanked his Mongolian colleague for participating in Cop29, emphasizing that this is their first meeting. He also noted that the visit of Khurelsukha to Azerbaijan as the President of Mongolia is of historical significance.

The President of Mongolia, in turn, expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized that his visit to Azerbaijan is an important step in strengthening bilateral relations. He also congratulated Azerbaijan on COP29 and chairmanship at the conference.

In addition, the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations, including opportunities for cooperation in areas such as tourism, education, agriculture and livestock. The creation of an intergovernmental commission was also proposed to further strengthen cooperation.

Huralsukh noted that 32 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries are an important milestone and expressed an invitation to President Aliyev to visit Mongolia. In turn, the President of Azerbaijan expressed appreciation for the invitation and emphasized the importance of further deepening cooperation.
