Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, at a meeting with the Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for the construction of the sewing factory in the city of Hankendi, emphasizing its importance to ensure the employment of a large number of people.
At a meeting with the President of Uzbekistan, Aliyev thanked him for the visit and participation in the COP29 conference. Having emphasized the significance of documents signed between countries, Aliyev noted that joint projects for the development and transfer of “green” energy reflect the essence of Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, congratulating Ilham Aliyev on the successful organization COP29, noted that Uzbekistan as a friend, brother and ally are glad for this success. He emphasized that the historical stage of bilateral relations has developed between the countries, as evidenced by the previously signed agreement on allied relations. The President of Uzbekistan also noted close cooperation between the delegations of the two countries and the successful implementation of joint projects.
As part of the meeting, the presidents discussed the development of cooperation in the fields of education, mechanical engineering, construction, mining, pharmaceuticals, cotton breeding and tourism, and also exchanged views on the opening of Azerbaijani trade representative office in Uzbekistan.
Later during the video, the presidents took part in the opening ceremony of the sewing factory in Hankendi. President Aliyev expressed gratitude to the Uzbek partners for assistance in the construction of an enterprise, which will ensure the work of thousands of people, mainly women. He noted that this will contribute to the economic development of the Karabakh region, recalling that Uzbekistan also first helped Azerbaijan with the construction of the school in Fizuli.
