Wagner’s mercenaries who fell into the Ukrainian captivity said that the PMC leadership stopped applying executions for its mercenaries due to large losses, writes The Washington Post.
Mercenaries – 30 -year -old Ilya and 35 -year -old Mikhail – fell into Ukrainian captivity in the northern part of Bakhmut.
The mercenaries said that in PMCs they were warned that everyone who tries to escape from the front is waiting for “zeroing” (as they call executions in the “Wagnere”). They also talked about practice intimidating: Wagner officers showed their poorly trained fighters a video on which the mercenaries were broken by their hands, the Wagnerians hung or clogged to death.
One of the mercenaries says that he himself witnessed how his friend was taken away after he opposed the deployment of troops. Prisoners of the “Wagnerians” claim that sometimes in the Bakhmut direction “abused” hundreds of fighters per day.
According to them, the situation was radically changed by shocking PMC losses. According to Ilya, in 72 hours when trying to storm the village of Krasnaya Gora near the Bachmut, 400 Wagnerians were eliminated, and their corpses were simply left to lie in the snow. Violators of the rules – deserters, those who took alcohol or drugs – against the background of large losses have stopped killing, mercenaries say.
“The zeroing” was canceled. Probably because there were not enough people, ”said Mikhail.
