Georgia managed not only to maintain independence, but also to strengthen it even more.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of the country Irakli Kobakhidze at a government meeting on the occasion of the anniversary of the popular referendum on March 31, 1991, at which residents of Georgia then, which was still part of the USSR, unanimously spoke out for the restoration of independence.
According to the prime minister, today “boldly, we can say that the country is sovereign, more than ever.”
“Georgia to today, for today, managed not only to maintain independence, but also to strengthen it even more. And independence is something that we should be especially careful in the future. Independence must be constantly protected, and today we can say with confidence that Georgia is independent and sovereign, more than ever,” the Georgian media quoted the words of Kobakhidze.
