Prime Minister Of Georgia Announced Commitment Of Country Of European Integration

European integration remains the main priority of the foreign policy of Georgia. This was announced on the air of Georgian television by the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobahidze, local media reports.

The head of government believes that by 2030, Georgia will be ready to join the EU for all components.

“European integration remains, of course, the main priority of foreign policy. By 2030, we will be ready to join the European Union than all the Candidate countries. In all respects. This applies to democracy, human rights, the rule of law, as well as economics and general readiness for EU membership,” Cobajidze words are given.

The prime minister noted that the Georgian authorities look at the future of the country with optimism.

“Despite the fact that the status of the candidate was conceived as a blackmail tool against Georgia, we did not obey blackmail. Moreover, we received the status of a candidate,” said Kobakhidze.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobahidze on November 28, 2024 accused the EU of blackmail and announced that the process of European integration was frozen for four years. This statement caused mass protests in the country and tension in relations between Georgia and the West.
