The Hungarian government supports Sweden entry into NATO. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said this, commenting on the results of a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg.
“I once again confirmed (in a telephone conversation with Stoltenberg) the support of the Hungarian government to the membership of Sweden in NATO,” Orban wrote on the social network x.
The politician assured that he called on the Hungarian parliament (state assembly) to ratify the corresponding agreement at the first convenient opportunity.
On the eve of Orban, on the social network, that he sent a letter-imprisonment to his Swedish colleague Ulf Kristerson for negotiations on Sweden membership in NATO.
“I do not see the point of negotiations at this stage. Of course, we hope that Hungary is ratified by membership as soon as possible,” said Tobias Billstrom, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden.
