Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on success on the election of the head of state on the eve of the second round.

Modi expressed confidence that the connections between India and Turkey, as well as cooperation on global issues will develop in the future.
The chairman of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey Akhmet Jener announced earlier that the winner of the second round of the presidential elections, following the results of the calculation of the vast majority of ballots, is the current head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
