Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kisida considers it necessary to hold a personal meeting with the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un to resolve the issue of Japanese citizens stolen by North Korean intelligence in the 70s of the last century, TASS reports.
“I believe that negotiations at the highest level need to be carried out as soon as possible,” the politician said during the debate in parliament.
Kisida also spoke out for the need to conduct high -level consultations, which the head of the Japanese government would also oversee.
All Japanese prime ministers of recent years, including kisid, advocate personal negotiations with the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un without any preliminary conditions, but they insist that the topic of stolen citizens should be key on the agenda of such meetings.
