Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced the need for a fair and strong world in Ukraine, emphasizing that it should not be imposed.
“The world should be free from imposition. Neither the right of the strong, nor the laws of the Wild West,” said Sanchez, speaking at the congress of the Socialist Labor Party of Spain (PSOE) in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon.
He criticized negotiations between the United States and Russia to stop the war, saying that Ukraine and the European Union should not be excluded from this process.
“The world in Ukraine and the security of Europe cannot be imposed from the outside. Ukrainians and Europeans must come to an agreement themselves,” the Spanish prime minister emphasized.
Sanchez noted that the world should be based on the principles of international law, multilateral order and respect for the sovereignty of states. “The concession to the aggressor is not a world, but the path to new and more serious attacks. Therefore, we must work on a fair and strong world,” he added.
The head of the Spanish government also said that he would visit Ukraine on February 24 and hold a meeting with President Vladimir Zelensky to confirm the support of the Ukrainian people.
According to Sanchez, Ukraine seeks to become part of the European Union, and the Russian attack was caused by this desire.
