Prime Minister Of Spain: It Is Necessary To Strengthen Relations With Turkey

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez expressed a desire to further strengthen relations with Turkey as part of Madrid’s Middle East policy.

Speaking at the 9th conference of ambassadors in Madrid, Sanchez said that Spain acts on the basis of the principles of peace, international law and respect for human rights both in the Middle East and Ukraine.

noting the need to expand the dialogue with the countries of the region, especially in the Middle East, Sanchez said: “We must continue to strengthen relations with Turkey.”

Criticizing the ultra -right, Sanchez noted that there are international forces who want to destroy the European project and divide Europe.

In addition, Sanchez noted that the European Union (EU) needs to strengthen its foreign policy.

“The time has come to oppose those who are trying to divide Europe. We will not abandon the values ​​enshrined in our constitution, we will protect and promote them even more decisive. Even if the world becomes more and more hostile, this will not change our direction” – said Sanchez.

According to the prime minister, one of the goals of the foreign policy of Spain is to support strong and effective multilateral relations with the USA and China.

Sanchez also noted the importance of strengthening the security and defense seats, but emphasized that Spain does not seek to join the new arms race, rejecting the militaristic approach.
