To expand employment opportunities for women and ensure gender equality in the labor market, as well as improve national legislation in accordance with international labor standards, new projects have been prepared in Azerbaijan.
The press service of the Ministry told Azeri Daily that in order to present and discuss projects with the participation of government agencies, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Azerbaijan, as well as international experts, a video conference was held.
At the event, it was noted that one of the priorities of the state employment policy is to increase women’s participation in the labor market and employment opportunities. Currently, in the legislation of many countries of the world, there are no professions and positions prohibited for women. Reforms are underway to expand women’s employment and create opportunities for them to receive higher wages.
It was noted that in Azerbaijan, for this purpose, amendments have been made to the Labor Code, legislative projects have been prepared to adapt the Code to international standards.
