A former judge accused of receiving a bribe was arrested in Azerbaijan. Haqqin.az reported this in the press service of the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that according to the materials received by the unconvinable decisions adopted by the Sumghait City Court, the Materials received by the unreasonable appointment of pensions received at the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Justice, a criminal case was instituted and investigated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the AR in the Main Directorate of Combating in the Combat City corruption at the Prosecutor General.
The investigation found that Ilyas Makhmudov, who in 2008-2019, held the position of judge of the Sumgait city court, in exchange for the adoption of a deliberately unfair decision to satisfy the requirements of the plaintiffs in various civil cases in its proceedings, extorted money from individuals in the form bribes, in connection with which in 2 cases he obviously made an unfair decision.
In addition, Ilyas Makhmudov managed to achieve the inclusion of knowingly false information in 25 decisions adopted during his work to submit to the corresponding structures of illegal judicial acts that establish legally significant facts related to the determination of work experience and disability.
The reasonable suspicions were also revealed in causing significant damage to the interests of the state, which entailed severe consequences, as a result of which the payment of pensions appointed on illegal grounds amounted to a total of 243 thousand 441 manats.
Based on the collected evidence, Ilyas Makhmudov was charged under the articles of the Criminal Code 295.1 (obviously unfair sentence, resolution, resolution or inaction), 308.2 (abuse of power that entailed grave consequences), 311.3.2 (re -receipt of a bribe) and 313 and 313 (official fraud).
