From December 16, 2021, the investigative group headed by the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, resumed criminal proceedings due to the illegal actions of some servicemen who served in the military units of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the direction of the Territory, Agdam and Beylagan regions were carried out intensive investigative Actions in all areas due to the fact that in May – June 2017, a group of military personnel of the above and other military units in the absence of relevant powers, in violation of the claims of criminal procedure legislation, the facts of torture were allowed tortured to interrogations, allegedly, suspects , inhuman and degrading treatment, as well as physical and psychological violence against victims, entailed death and other grave consequences.
