The Baku Court of Appeal rejected the prosecutor’s request to replace a preventive measure against a famous businessman, former president of the Baky football club Khafiza Mammadov.
As Haqqin.az became known, the prosecutor appealed to the court with a petition for the election of preventive measures in the form of arrest in relation to the businessman.
“Unfortunately, there was such a baseless and unreasonable requirement. However, the Court of Appeal made a fair decision, rejecting this petition,” said Hafiz Mammadov himself in an interview with the Haqqin.az correspondent.
Recall, by the decision of the Yasamal District Court of January 25, 2022, as part of a criminal case instituted under Article 213.3 of the Criminal Code on the facts of tax evasion and contributions to compulsory state social insurance in the amount of 1,465,200 manats, the businessman Hafiz Mammadov was in relation to businessman Hafiza Mamedov A measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen. Subsequently, Mamedov was released under house arrest in connection with the repayment of a certain part of the debt.
