Prospects of Azerbaijano-Turkish cooperation were discussed in Baku

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov met with a visit to Baku Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Yasin Ekrem.

According to the press service of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, the meeting discussed the prospects of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation between the two countries, the current situation in the region, as well as the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The parties expressed satisfaction with efforts to further expand strategic allied relations between the two countries at all levels.

The meeting also noted the importance of further expansion of the agenda of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Strategic Union in the political, economic, trade, military, defense industry, energy security, investments, transport and communications, humanitarian, educational, cultural and other areas.

Bayramov shared his impressions of the organization of the diplomatic forum in Antalya at a high level and noted that he was proud of the diplomatic successes of the brotherly Turkey and that she rose to 3rd place in the world in the number of diplomatic departments. He emphasized that the decision to create an Azerbaijani-Turkish University will deeper cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.

It was also noted that within the framework of bilateral and international organizations on international and regional threats, the problem of migration and other areas, mutually beneficial partnership is exemplary.

The importance of increasing the intensity of joint activities in the framework of the organization of the Turkic states was noted, which is one of the main foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan, and the introduction of new multilateral initiatives.

At the meeting, Bayramov informed the Turkish side of the last steps taken in the direction of the peaceful process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The Minister emphasized the importance of Armenia’s refusal from claims to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan to establish peace and stability in the region.

The meeting also discussed bilateral, regional and international issues representing mutual interest.
