On suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering, several soldiers of the Irish and Koldstym Guard – two British regiments involved in the protection of Queen Elizabeth II, reports The Independent.
Suspects, including six soldiers of the Irish Guard and one Coldster, were detained on May 24 during raids in Hampshire, Berkshire, North Wales and Northern Ireland. The arrests were held shortly before the parade in honor of the platinum anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II.
The British Ministry of Defense said that none of the detainees would participate in planned events.
