In several cities of Morocco, protests were held against the bill on strikes, the participants of which demanded to revise certain provisions of the document.
Protests were organized at the initiative of the Morocco Confederation and covered cities such as Rabat, Casablanca, Tetuan, Tangier, Beni-Tedit and El Ayun. Participants in rallies made the slogans emphasizing their disagreement with the proposed bill and the requirement to change some of his articles.
Protesters described the bill as an attempt to limit the right to strikes.
December 24, the bill was approved by the House of Representatives with the support of the government. In the case of approval in the second chamber, it will become a law.
Since October of this year, activists and trade unions have repeatedly called for protests against the bill. Article 5 is most outraged, according to which any calls to strike that are not complied by the Law on Associations are considered invalid, and strikes with political goals are declared prohibited.
