Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the economic volume of member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) reached 2.5 trillion dollars. He noted that “90 percent of trade in the EAEU is conducted in national currencies.”
Putin spoke at the opening of the Summit of the Eurasian Economic Union, which takes place in Moscow with the participation of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikola Pashinyan and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov.
noting that the EAEU has become an important structure in economic growth and trade, Putin said that the annual volume of trade between countries participating reached $ 89 billion.
According to the President of the Russian Federation, economic indicators indicate the importance of the EAEU: “The volume of the economy of the participating countries reached $ 2.5 trillion. 90 percent of trade in national currencies in the EAEU.”
According to him, the parties want to continue to develop cooperation carried out within the framework of the EAEU, Putin added: “We sincerely want to do more joint work for a comprehensive development and strengthening our cooperation. I believe that all my colleagues here share this position.”
