Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the Western elites of attempts to disrupt the dialogue of Russia and the USA, noting that not everyone is satisfied with these contacts. The President of the Russian Federation said this at an expanded meeting of the College of the Federal Security Service.
“We understand that not everyone is happy with the resumption of Russian-American contacts. Some of the Western elites are still configured to maintain instability in the world. And these forces will try to disrupt or compromise the dialogue that has begun. We see it,” said Putin.
The Russian leader noted that the resumed contacts with the US administration inspire “certain hopes.”
“We all see how the world is changing rapidly, the situation in the world. In this regard, I note that the first contacts with the new American administration inspire certain hopes. There is a counterclaim to restore interstate relations, to the gradual solution of the accumulated systemic, strategic problems in world architecture,” he said.
According to the President of the Russian Federation, today’s partners from the USA “demonstrate pragmatism, a real view of things, abandon many stereotypes, the so -called rules and messianic ideological cliches of their predecessors, which, in fact, led to the crisis of the entire system of international relations.”
At the same time, according to Putin, the Western policy provoked the beginning of the collapse of the Western community itself.
“We see this too, [the former White House administration] began to ruin the Western community itself from the inside. The problems are evidenced in the economy of many Western countries and in domestic politics. We see this all, especially this is clearly manifested in the course of domestic political events in these countries,” he said.
