Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday in a telephone conversation with a colleague from France Emmanuel Macron discussed issues related to Russia’s negotiations with the United States and NATO on security guarantees. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.
Parties spent a telephone conversation for the third time in a week. The conversation took place on the initiative of Paris.
“The subject dialogue continues on the situation around Ukraine and the issues related to the Russian initiative to develop long-term legal guarantees of the Security of the Russian Federation,” the report says. The Kremlin added that the interlocutors exchanged assessments of the current state of affairs, including taking into account recent contacts with a number of international partners, as well as in the context of France’s chairmanship in the Council of the European Union.
The presidents discussed including the situation around Ukraine. Vladimir Putin pointed out the French colleague for provocative statements and actions of the Ukrainian authorities, contrary to Minsk agreements.
“Vladimir Putin again drew attention to provocative statements and actions of the Kiev leadership, coming against Minsk agreements,” stressed in the Kremlin. The leaders of the two countries also agreed on further contacts.
