Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.
According to the Kremlin press service, the telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the Hungarian side.
The Kremlin reported that “a number of topical issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were considered, which is generally developing in progress. In particular, it was given to further advance of mutually beneficial projects in the field of energy,” the report said.
In addition, “a thorough exchange of views on Ukrainian issues was carried out. Viktor Orban expressed interest in promoting the joint search for the paths of the political and diplomatic resolution of the crisis, including taking into account his contacts with a number of Western leaders,” the Kremlin noted.
It is reported that Vladimir Putin, for his part, outlined the fundamental assessments of the current development of the situation around Ukraine and the “destructive line” of the Kyiv administration, which “still excludes the possibility of a peaceful settlement of the conflict.”
“The tense situation in the Middle Eastern region in the context of the latest events in Syria was also discussed,” added in the Kremlin.
