Putin Announced Plans To Hold Summit This Year Between Russian Federation And Arab Countries

The Russian side plans to hold a summit this year between Russia and the Arab countries. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at negotiations in the Kremlin with Sultan Oman Haisam Ben Tarecom Al Said. This is the first full -time meeting of the leaders of the two countries during the existence of bilateral relations.

“On the line of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – the information was probably held – we plan to hold a summit this year between Russia and the Arab countries. Many of our friends in the Arab world support this idea,” said Putin, noting that in the Russian Federation the Sultan Oman was glad to see the League of Arab States and Russia.

Putin recalled that in 2025 Russia and Oman celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. “We have a very good background, contacts are developing. A solid package of documents has been prepared for your visit, which will certainly create additional conditions, a good regulatory framework for the development of our relations in all directions,” the President of the Russian Federation said.

He noted that much more needs to be done in the field of trade and economic ties.

“But now there is an opportunity to develop our relations in the field of logistics and in the field of transport, in the field of mutual investment, in agriculture. Such areas are worked out by our colleagues, including interaction at the level of state funds on both parties,” Putin said.

“We continue to supply food products and, of course, we are very counting on the fact that in the field of energy we can have additional steps: our companies show great interest in the development of relations with Oman,” he added.

Sultan Oman Haysam Ben Tarek arrived in Russia on a two -day visit on April 21. The visit is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Oman (1985). The visit of the Sultan of Oman became known on April 19. The Kremlin press service reported that the leaders of states will discuss trade, economic, financial and cultural and humanitarian aspects of cooperation between the two countries. In addition, in the conversation of Putin and Al Said, relevant international and regional problems will be affected.

It is worth noting that Oman acts as an intermediary in the negotiations of the United States and Iran under a nuclear transaction.
