Putin asked Benneta to convey to Russia Church of Alexander Nevsky in Jerusalem

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent the Prime Minister of Israel Naftali Bennett Letter with a request to transfer the Church of Alexander Nevsky to the ownership of Russia, located on the Alexandrovsky Compound in Jerusalem, according to the Haaretz newspaper with reference to the source. He stated that Israel already “dealing with this issue”, but did not lead the details. The YNET portal also writes that the Russian side wants to get the rights to the Alexandrovsky farm. In the office of the Israeli Premiere, no way commented on this information.

In January 2020, information appeared that Israel agrees to transfer Russia to Russia. Israeli media then put forward a version that the decision was made in exchange for the pardon of Israelis Nama Issashar, convicted in Moscow for the smuggling of drugs. The Russian Federation expected that the foundation would go under the Russian jurisdiction at the beginning of March of the same year, but in April Israel suspended the transfer of Russia’s rights to the distance.

The fact that Vladimir Putin sent a letter to the management of Israel with a request to take a positive decision on the registration of the ownership of Russia to the Alexandrovskoe House, last week, said Sergey Stepashin, chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society. He complained that the transfer of rights to the foundation was suspended against the background of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. According to Mr. Stepashina, Israel “led himself as it was made Israel, – and our and yours, and there, and here, what is called, Ping Pong arranged.”
