Increasing calculations in national currencies allows you to increase the financial independence of the BRICS participants. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the head of the new Bank for Development Dilma Rousseff.
According to the Kremlin press service, the BRICS summit was opened in Kazan, on the fields of which Putin met with the president of the new development bank.
“We have been highly appreciated by what you have done in recent years. In general, this is a good developing and promising financial institution. Since 2018, 100 projects totaling 33 billion dollars have been funded in my opinion. Increasing calculations in local currencies allows reduce the payment of debt services, increase the financial independence of the BRICS participants, reduce geopolitical risks as much as possible, save how much this is possible in today’s world, the development of the economy from politics, ”said Putin.
He noted that the Russian Federation, as a country – the chairman in Brix this year, expects the actively participation of the head of the new development bank in a meeting of leaders at a summit in Kazan.
