The President of the Russian Federation will not be the Federal Assembly in 2022, the “prejudice” was conducted to the performance, but the case did not reach large -scale work in the presidential administration (AP). The Kremlin considered that before clarifying the situation with the war in Ukraine, the message of Vladimir Putin is better to postpone, Russian media write.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the message may be postponed to the next year. “This is such a fairly obvious truth,” Peskov noted and suggested “stop fortressing on coffee grounds” about this.
President of the Russian Federation, according to Art. 84 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, is obliged to contact the Federal Assembly with the annual message. In his appeal, he must voice the main directions of the state’s domestic and foreign policy. The message of 2022 began to be prepared before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24. A week before the start of the war, Putin held the first meeting “as part of the preparation of the message.” It was planned that the “special operation” will pass quickly and in the spring Putin will make an appeal. But by summer it became clear that everything went not according to plan and in the Kremlin stopped conducting consultations with experts and departments, the source of the Russian Kommersant noted.
In November, work on the message resumed in the government and the Kremlin. Experts were collected and asked: “What would you consider it appropriate to see in the message,” the source says. But soon the preparation was “faded”, and in early December in the Kremlin they began to say that there would be no messages this year.
Putin also refused to hold a “direct line” this year with Russians and a large press conference at the end of the year. According to the sources of The Moscow Times, Putin canceled the press conference “at the last minute” personally after the strike of the Ukrainian drone along the strategic aviation airfield in Engels.
