Putin proposed candidacy of Andrei Belousov for post of Minister of Defense of Russian Federation

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the candidacy of Andrei Belousov for the post of Minister of Defense, which was previously held by Sergey Shoigu.

This is stated in the message in the Telegram channel of the Federation Council.

65-year-old Belousov at different times held the posts of the assistant to the head of state Vladimir Putin on economic issues, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, director of the Department of Economics and Finance of the Government of the Russian Federation, General Director of the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and short-term forecasting, worked in 1981-2006 at the Russian Academy of Sciences.

President Putin by his decree appointed Sergei Shoigu Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

“To appoint a Shoiga Sergey Kuzhugetovich Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation,” the text of the document said.

The decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
