The new Ambassador of Russia in Belarus will be the Plenipotentiary Representative of Russia in the Tripartite Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine, Chairman of the Supreme Council “United Russia” Boris Gryzlov, reports Kommersant.
The approval of the candidacy of Gryzlov to the post of ambassador to Belarus also reported the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin.
According to the publication, at first, Boris Gryzlov will combine work in the contact group in Ukraine with the Embassy.
Note that Gryzlov became the authorized representative of Russia in the contact group to resolve the situation in Ukraine in 2015. Prior to that, he was a member and chairman of Rosatom, the Speaker of the State Duma, the Minister of the Interior.
