Russian President Vladimir Putin talked on the phone with Angela Merkel, who finished the on the eve of the German Chancellor, the Kremlin press service reports.
“Vladimir Putin has been warmly thanked by Angela Merkel for many years of fruitful cooperation, emphasizing its significant contribution to the development of Russian-German relations,” the report says.
In turn, the ex-Chancellor of Germany expressed appreciation to the Russian president for joint work and wished success in establishing a dialogue with the new head of the German government by Olaf Scholts.
Earlier, Putin sent Merkel to the telegram, in which he turned to her on “you” and assured in the continuation of friendly communication.
