Qatar announced the beginning of daily supplies of 2 million cube. natural gas to Syria through the territory of Jordan to support the energy needs of the country.
According to the official Syrian agency SANA, the supply of natural gas is carried out as part of the project financed by the Qatari Development Fund.
Syrian Energy Minister Omar Shakruk said that, thanks to the Qatari financing of gas supply, they will help to support the country’s energy sector.
The head of the department noted that at the first stage, the supplied gas will generate 400 megavatts of electricity per day, which will lead to an increase in the supply of electricity by 2-4 hours a day.
“This will positively affect the daily life of citizens and support the critical sectors of the country,” the minister said.

In an interview with “Al Jazeera”, the official representative of the Catarus Majid al-Ansari said that the emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Ben Hamad Al Tanya gave clear support to support the Syrian people.
Al-Ansari emphasized that the energy assistance of Qatar will cover the entire territory of Syria and will contribute to strengthening stability in the country.
He also noted that the Catar from 2011 to 2024 supported the Syrian people and intends to continue to participate in the process of restoration of the country, cooperating with international partners to provide humps.
Syria continues to encounter an acute energy crisis that exacerbated after the overthrow of the Bashar Assad regime.
