The Baku court for serious crimes considered the case of a public figure and leader of the European movement in Azerbaijan Ramin Gadzhila, accused of organizing illegal migration of citizens in the USA, Canada and Europe.
According to haqqin.az, Gadzhili filed a motion to return the case to the preliminary investigation, saying that unfair accusations were made against him: “I was not part of any organized group. There is no group, no fund. I did not do this . I ask you to return the criminal case for a preliminary investigation. “
Lawyer Rashard Aliyev supported the petition. The prosecutor considered it unreasonable.
The court did not satisfy the petition.
The judge said that if the charges of committing a crime in an organized group during the trial is not confirmed, gadzhils may be justified under the indicated articles.
During the trial, Hajila filed a second request to the court. He demanded to replace his preventive measure for house arrest.
The court did not satisfy the petition, but the measure of restraint assigned the gadzhils was in force.
Gadzhili also protested against the composition of the court. He added that from June 16 he announced a hunger strike in protest against violation of his rights and will continue the case to a fair court.
Later, the testimony was given by Witness Azer Aliyev. He said that he gave Ramin Gadzhila a total of 22 thousand manat for a visa to Canada and the Schengen visa to European countries.
“I am a religious person. I live honestly, I never deceived anyone. Ramin should return 22 thousand manat to me. In 2018, I needed a Schengen visa. Therefore, I turned to Ramin. For this I paid 3 thousand dollars. Then he asked for Another 2 thousand dollars to speed up the process. I paid. We met in the Winter Park, he asked for money again, saying that he needed to settle some business. I believed him again, taking it for an honest person and gave 11 thousand 250 250 Manatov. And then he disappeared. I made certificates, they told me that he was behind bars, they said that he was released. My visa was coming to an end, and I had to go to Canada. I had to go to Europe and stay there a couple weeks “.
Aliyev added that due to the fraud of Hajila, he was forced to sell his house. His family was on the verge of decay.
Gadzhili said that he was detained after Azer’s receipt by the Schengen visa.
Later, during the meeting of Hajila, he lost his temper and hit his glass cup. He was removed from the courtroom.
Gadzhila’s lawyer Rashard Aliyev protested against the court without the accused. The judge issued a warning to the lawyer.
Another witness, Panama Huseynli, who testified in court, said that in the summer of 2016 he turned to Ramin Hajila for a training visa in the USA.
“For this, I gave Ramin Hajila $ 800. Ramin returned the money to me because I could not go,” said the witness.
