The Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiev is on a working visit to Brussels. As part of the visit, he met with the Commissioner of the European Union for Transport Adina Velian.
The press service of the ministry said that during the meeting, the issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union in the field of transport, especially aviation, including the implementation of projects within the framework of Trans-European transport networks (Ten-T) and the accession of the Zangezur corridor, were discussed these networks.
The subject of discussion at the meeting was also issues related to the holding of the second meeting of a high-level dialogue in transport in Azerbaijan-Es.
the European Commissioner informed in detail about the projects implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of transport and digitalization, including the importance of the Zangesur corridor and the work carried out in the territories liberated from the occupation. It was noted that there was a great potential for cooperation along the median corridor – a multimodal transport route passing through the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The corridor will open new opportunities for the integration of the region into European and global supply chains.
The Minister of Rashad Nabiev held the next meeting with the European Commissioner on the extension of Oliver Varhei. During the meeting, an exchange of views on cooperation in the field of transport, digital transformation, ICT and cybersecurity between Azerbaijan and the European Union took place. The issues of supporting the European Union implemented in Azerbaijan of digital transformation and training of specialists in this field were discussed.
In the coming days, meetings of Rashad Nabiev with a number of high -ranking officials of the EU are planned, participation in the conference organized in the European Parliament on the topic “Sustainable transport relations between Europe and Asia”, as well as a visit to the Federation of Industrial Enterprises “Agoria” and acquaintance and acquaintance with the business community of Belgium.
