According to Vinisius, who has been playing for Real Madrid since 2018, he never thought about leaving Spain, despite racist cries addressed to him. “I never thought about leaving La League, because otherwise the racists would have achieved what they are striving for,” he said.
At the same time, he noted that “he is experiencing more and more sadness” when he is faced with racial attacks.
According to Vinisius, racism is a global problem, and he turned to UEFA, FIFA and the South American football Federation Konmebol with a request to take effective measures to decide it.
“In Spain, the problem is that racism here does not qualify as a crime. I am sure that Spain is not a racist country, but there are many racists, and many of them visit the stadiums,” said the Brazilian.
Vinisius Junior spent 27 matches for the Brazilian national team, including at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In games for the national team, he scored three goals.
