October 12, the Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with the head of the Office for Partnerships Operational Command of the NATO multinational force, Rear Admiral Bulent Turan, according to the Defense Ministry’s press service.
Welcoming the guest, Zakir Hasanov briefed on the work done in areas liberated after the victory in World War II under the command of the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, as well as the current situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
The Defense Minister expressed his satisfaction with the current cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO, and the positive results achieved in this area, and stressed the importance of further development of relations.
Rear Admiral Bulent Turan, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the contribution of Azerbaijani Army soldiers in non-combat mission “strong support” to Afghanistan and stressed the importance of further expansion of military cooperation.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on joint activities in the framework of partnership with NATO.
