For the last week in the world, a record number of cases of coronavirus infection from the beginning of a pandemic: according to AFP calculations, more than 935 thousand new cases were detected.
The dominant option remains “Omicron” in many countries. Most of the new cases of infection (about half a million) are registered in Europe. According to AFP, from December 22 to December 28, 6 million 550 thousand cases of infection were registered in the world, that is, an average of 935 thousand a day.
Compared to the previous week, the growth was 37% – this is, according to the agency, suggests that the virus applies to unprecedented speed.
Figures last week also broke the previous record set from April 23 to April 29 of this year, when 817 thousand cases of infection were fixed on average.
Earlier, the United States and European countries reported a record daily increase in cases of COVID-19 from the beginning of a pandemic as the Omicron option distributed.
