Referendum For Construction Of Nuclear Power Plant In Kazakhstan Is Recognized

A referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan is considered to be held. This was reported by Kazinform with reference to the press service of the Central Commission of the Referendum (Central Committee) of the Republic.

According to the data obtained, the total number of citizens of Kazakhstan who has the right to participate in a referendum amounted to 12 million 284 thousand 487 people.

The number of citizens who took part in the vote amounted to 7 million 820 thousand 204 people, or 63.66 % of the number of citizens entitled to participate in the referendum.

The number of citizens who voted for a positive resolution of the issue submitted to the referendum amounted to 5 million 561 thousand 937 people or 71.12 %.

“Thus, the referendum is considered the consisting. On the issue submitted to the referendum, a positive decision is made,” said in the Central Criminal Code.

On October 6 of this year, a popular vote was held in Kazakhstan on the construction of a nuclear power plant. Earlier, the CEC announced preliminary results of the voting of Kazakhstanis.

“For” 71.12%voted, or 5,561,937 people from those who participated in the vote. “Against” voted 2,045,271 people, said the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov on October 7.
