Türkiye and Venezuela have reached significant progress in the development of bilateral connections. This was said in an interview with the Anadol agency, Foreign Minister of the South American country Ivan Hil Pinto.
According to him, this became possible thanks to friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries.
The minister noted that the connections between the two countries have received a “special impetus” in recent years. Hil added that the visit of the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro to Turkey in 2017 played a significant role in this.
The diplomat recalled that Ankara and Karakas signed a number of important agreements in the political and economic and economic spheres, established cooperation in various fields.
He emphasized that Turkey and Venezuela share a similar political vision, respect the principle of multipolarity on the world arena and strictly adhere to international law.
He also indicated the need to increase the volume of bilateral trade, which last year reached 1.2 billion dollars. The minister said that the parties intend to bring this figure to $ 3 billion.
The Foreign Minister expressed confidence in Turkey’s ability to cope with the consequences of destructive February earthquakes in the southeast of the country under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Ivan Hil Pinto confirmed Venezuela’s readiness to maintain close cooperation with Turkey in this difficult period for the country.
The agency’s interlocutor also emphasized the importance of Turkey’s efforts to resolve the situation in Ukraine diplomatic means.
He praised the role of Ankara in the promotion of a peaceful agenda and emphasized the significant contribution of Turkey to ensuring global food security.
“I believe that the desire for the world should continue. The artificial maintenance of this war is very dangerous for humanity,” the minister said.
The diplomat focused on Venezuela’s confidence in the possibility of forming a fair multipolar world. In this context, he noted that Karakas supports the activities of organizations such as BRICS, the community of the states of Latin America and the Caribbean (CELAC) and ASEAN.
