The Religious Fund of Turkey (TDV) will assist 35 thousand inhabitants of Ethiopia in connection with the sacred month of Ramazan.
During the Holy month, Ramadan TDV actively provides humanitarian assistance in Ethiopia, supporting thousands of those in need. Within the framework of the charity program, the Fund distributes food parcels, organizes collective Iftars (conversation, evening meal during the Holy month of Ramazan) and provides festive clothing of orphans and low -income families.
According to TDV, Turkish Ambassador Ambassador to Addis Abbe, Burk Baran, an adviser to religious services of the Turkish Religious Directorate Yashar Dzhuhadar, representatives of TDV and volunteers took part in the Assistance Center in the Center for Islamic Council in the capital of Addis-Abe,
Speaking at the event, the Ambassador Burke Baran emphasized that there is a centuries -old friendship and unity between the peoples of Turkey and Ethiopia.
reminding that TDV opened its first regional office in Ethiopia, the head of the diplomatic mission emphasized: “For TDV, the largest non -governmental organization of Turkey, it is very important to support the Ethiopian people in the Holy month of Ramadan.”
Baran attracted attention to the fact that the Holy Ramadan encourages Muslims to share benefits and available resources.
TDV transferred to orphans in various regions of Ethiopia food, clothes, organized collective Iftars, which further strengthened the connection between the two countries, the ambassador noted.
Johadar noted that the Office for Religions of Turkey and TDV has been providing humanitarian assistance for about 15 years and carry out charitable activities in Ethiopia.
According to him, the help was covered by regions such as Beni-Shangul, Oromia, Amphara, Afar and Tigeri.
Collective Iftars for 5 thousand people in refugee camps, orphan buildings and courses on the study of the Qur’an are organized, he noted. “We plan to provide grocery premises, Iftar and festive clothing of 35 thousand in need of Ethiopia during Ramadan. They distributed food parcels 5,800 families and provided a festive clothing of 3 thousand children,” added a representative of the department.
