Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is ready to conduct a dialogue with Azerbaijan in any format. Expert discussions, held in December last year in Baku at the site of the Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy with the participation of Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan, demonstrated interest in this topic. So, the director of the first department of the CIS Foreign Ministry of Russia Mikhail Evdokimov in an interview with TASS responded to the question of the prospects for the inclusion of Azerbaijan in the EEAS on the observer rights.
Evdokimov said that the Eurasian Economic Union is open to states that express interest in cooperation with him.
However, he noted, “the decision to increase the level of interaction with the Union is made with the consent of all Member States and the Party concerned on the results of a comprehensive analysis of the possible economic consequences of such a step. For its part, we provide partners with the necessary information support.”
