Representatives Of Business Circles Of Turkey And Arab Countries Will Meet In Istanbul

Representatives of the governments and business circles of Turkey, Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia will discuss at the 15th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum the possibilities of cooperation in areas such as Islamic finances, fintechnics, stock markets, energy, industry, defense, defense, defense technology, food and construction.

The 15th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum under the motto “Turkey and the Arab World: the global corridor for investment, trade and technology” will take place tomorrow, October 17, in one of the hotels in Istanbul. The forum will take part in the Minister of Finance and Treasury of Turkey Mehmet Shimshek.

The event will be attended by representatives of governments, business circles and the financial sector of Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia.

The forum will discuss the possibilities of cooperation between Turkey and the Arab countries in areas such as investments, banking, Islamic finance, fintech, stock markets, foreign trade, energy, industry, technology and construction.

“We are observing the growing interest in Turkey”

The chairman of the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum, Murat Efa in an interview with Anadolu, emphasized the importance of the forum, which is held for the 15th time.

“This year for the first time in 13 years, the general secretary of the League of the Arab states will arrive at the forum. In addition, past programs were an important indicator of Turkish progress in the framework of the medium -term program. Now we are observing even greater interest. We also invited the World Bank and International Financial Financial Institutes.

Epheas said that the Forum will be attended by Ministers of Finance Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, as well as the chairman of the Central Bank of Libya. “This testifies to attention to Turkey. Turkey, despite global events and conflicts, due to its political and economic stability, is the center of attraction for the world in terms of diplomacy and economy,” he said.

Epheas said that more than 500 representatives of governments and business circles will take part in the forum, and within the framework of the program, in addition to panel discussions, bilateral meetings between ministers will take place.

Trading turnover of $ 22.9 billion

In 2023, the trade turnover of Turkey with Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia reached 22 billion 928 million 505 thousand 600 dollars. At the same time, Türkiye had a positive balance of trade with all countries except Egypt.

In 2023, the largest trade was $ 11.7 billion, then Egypt with $ 6.1 billion, Libya with $ 3 billion, Tunisia with $ 1.4 MDD and Kuwait with $ 655 billion. < /p>

According to 8 months of this year, the trade turnover of Turkey with these countries amounted to $ 15 billion. At the same time, the largest trade amount was $ 7.6 billion, then Egypt with $ 4.3 billion, Libya with $ 1.9 billion, Tunisia with $ 834 million and Kuwait with $ 403 million.
