Research: Second Generation Satellites Starlink Emit More Powerful Unintentional Electromagnetic Radiation

The new second -generation STARLINK STARLINK “V2 Mini” emit unintentional electromagnetic radiation 32 times more than previous models.

According to a study conducted by specialists from the Netherlands of the radio -Astronomic Institute (Astron) and published in the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics, radiation emitted by Starlink satellites.

The study was carried out using the Lofar radio telescope. Astron scientists have discovered that the radiation level of these satellites exceeds the regulations of the International Electric Union (ITU).

Professor Jessica Deminki, Director of Astron, in an interview with BBC noted that “at the time of starting the satellites Starlink, the ability to observe the sky is becoming more limited”.

What is Starlink?

Starlink is a space system developed by SpaceX to provide an Internet access in regions with insufficient coating.

more than 3200 satellites of Starlink, located in orbit, provide high -speed and broadband Internet even in the most remote corners of the world.

SpaceX plans to deploy a network of 12,000 satellites, having completed the project by 2027.
