Currently in the Kharkiv region, intense clashes are ongoing.
Settlements located near the front line are often undergoing shelling from the Russian army, as a result of which civil infrastructure is damaged.
The groups of employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (MKKK) operating in Ukraine also take part in the evacuation of the civilian population in safe areas.
The Anadolu team located in the region, together with the Red Cross detachments, went to Volchansk and Kupyansk and nearby settlements located near the borders from the Russian Federation in the city of the Kharkov Region, in order to get acquainted with the evacuation process.
The representative of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society Igor Klimenko told AA that the organization’s employees are mainly operating in the Kharkov region.
According to him, they visited the settlements of Izumsky, Kupyansky and Chuguevsky districts of the Kharkov region. “We drove about 500 kilometers. In order to get to some places, we had to go along the dirt roads and at a distance of only 5-6 km from the front line. We reached the border with Russia,” he said.
“Volchansk, located on the front line, is subjected to shelling 4-5 times a day. As a result of these attacks, civilians die. This city is closed for volunteer detachments and presses. A special permission is needed to enter here,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
He also spoke about repeated trips on Bakhmut controlled by the Russian army. According to him, the residents were delivered to the humans, some of them managed to evacuate.
