Residents of the village of Vasilievka in the Nikolaev region of Ukraine, whose houses were flooded as a result of the collapse of the Dam of the Kakhovsky hydroelectric power station, need humanitarian aid to normalize life.

A resident of the village of Genady Nezhlukchenko told Anadolu that after the collapse of the Dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the Ingalets River came out of the coast.
According to him, on the third day after the incident of the house in the village of Vasilyevka flooded. “The water rose above the windows. We did not have time to pick up our things. It was only possible to save pets. The whole family moved to the next village of Pavlovka. We are temporarily living here,” he said.
Nezhlukchenko said that local residents need help to find new housing. “We turned to the government. We do not know how assistance will be provided. However, we need at least temporary housing,” he said.
According to Nezhlukchenko, more than 70 houses were flooded in the village, one local resident died. In addition, significant damage was caused to the environment, he said.
“The water that comes is not clean. It is dead fish. This creates a danger to the health of the population. We can not stay here,” he said.
He also recalled that the village of Vasilievka for 9 months remained under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. “Many houses suffered at that time. We generally survived two tragedies. It is difficult for us to survive it. We do not know how we will live on,” he said.
