Resistance in occupied Melitopol is growing: more than a hundred Russians have been killed in city

Underground resistance in occupied Melitopol in southern Ukraine is growing, dozens of Russian soldiers were killed in the city. About this, as UNIAN writes, said the mayor of the city Ivan Fedorov.

He said that, according to intelligence, more than 100 Russians were “eliminated by the Melitopol partisan movement and the cooperation of the special services. But I am sure that this number is more.”

Fedorov said that, according to the information he received, the Russians “abduct people and keep them captive, and few people know how they treat people in captivity.”

According to Fedorov, since the beginning of the occupation, about 500 people were detained by Russian troops – some for several weeks.

“If you try to classify those who are in the threat of captivity, first of all, these are dissenters who do not want to join Russia, condemning the occupation and simply disagreed. Some talk about this only at home in the kitchen, but everything is under threat”. he said.

He noted that the detainees by the Russians forced to sign documents that they would no longer participate in rallies against the occupation or to speak with statements in support of the Russian forces.

According to him, some were tortured. “It is not only dangerous to go to pro -Ukrainian rallies – it is dangerous to stay in the city. So, today more than 50% of residents have left Melitopol. This is more than 70 thousand people.”
