The Ministry of Defense noted that 175 Russian military personnel were returned from the territories controlled by Kyiv.

“In return, 175 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces were transferred, as well as as a gesture of goodwill, 22 seriously wounded prisoners of war in need of urgent medical care,” follows from the message.

The department noted that “at present, all Russian military personnel are located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where they are provided with the necessary psychological and medical care, as well as the opportunity to contact relatives.”

“All released military personnel will be delivered to the Russian Federation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense. In the return of Russian military personnel from captivity, the United Arab Emirates provided,” the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation notes.

On Tuesday, on March 18, a telephone conversation of the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the USA Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump was held, during which the leaders “continued a detailed and frank exchange of views on the situation around Ukraine.” As reported in the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin informed that on March 19 between the Russian and Ukrainian sides, prisoners will be exchanged – 175 by 175 people.

“In addition, 23 seriously wounded Ukrainian military personnel who are undergoing a cure in Russian medical institutions will be transferred as a gesture of goodwill,” the report said.

The upcoming exchange of prisoners with Russia was also confirmed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“I knew about him (exchange). From the SBU and the GUR I received this information,” Zelensky said.
