Lebanon is on the brink of an explosion and a point of no return amid the deepening crisis in the country. According to RIA Novosti, this was stated by Acting Prime Minister of Lebanon Hassan Diyab.
“Lebanon has reached the brink of explosion after the collapse, and there are fears that it will not be possible to avoid what was feared,” Diyab said during a speech on Saturday.
He said that almost seven months after the resignation of his government, a new one has not yet been formed, this creates even more difficulties on the way out of the crisis. “The public crisis cannot be resolved without solving the financial crisis, and the financial crisis cannot be resolved without resuming negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, and this is impossible without reforms. There will be no reforms without a new government,” Diyab explained.
